One of the few Japanese restaurants located in Jamaica, Cocoro serves classic Japanese dishes such as Shrimp Tempura, Chicken Karaag which is a deep fried chicken with onion vinegar sauce.

This is perhaps the most different Japanese restaurant from the handful that are now in Jamaica. It fashions itself as a “homestyle” eatery, with much the same fare as the others but with taste and preparation that may be unique.

Their miso soup, green salad, or rather the salad dressing, and seaweed are all first class, usually a good indication of the quality of other items on the menu. Service, spearheaded by the owner himself, makes your experience there enjoyable.

Part of Cocoroo is on the lawn, part on the veranda in one of the buildings at the Mayfair Hotel, and the larger portion is inside. There is no air condition, but the waitpersons thoughtfully bring a fan to your table the minute you indicate you might be a bit warm.
