Accompong Maroon Festival

An annual celebration by the Accompong Maroons of Western Jamaica, with traditional dancing, singing, feasts and ceremonies. The festival dates back to the 19th century and commemorates the successful Maroon rebellion against the English who enslaved them.

Passa Passa is perhaps the most widely known Jamaican street session. It's not for the faint hearted because it begins at 1:00am and usually doesn't end till around eight. Visitors to Jamaica interested in music and culture find it the perfect culture spot.
